Welcome to your Astro Mojo. I'm your astrologer Lisa Paron and this is your general western astrology forecast for May 2016. May’s lucky stars begin on the 1^st, with the Sun in Taurus in a lovely aspect to Neptune in Pisces. This sparkling energy is perfect for artists, entertainers and creative types to find inspiration and create beauty. It could also mean a golden opportunity presenting itself for people affected by this transit.

One of the best aspects of the month is on the 3^rd, when the Sun in Taurus makes a lucky star or earth trine with Jupiter in Virgo. The Sun is also approaching a trine with Pluto in Capricorn that is exact on the 7^th and joining the earth trine is the planet Mercury or The Messenger of the Gods. Now, normally I would say, this is a wonderful time for new beginnings, projects, business and enterprises, but with 5 planets currently in retrograde motion, not so much. This is a slower paced energy, not a time to take action. It is a time to chill out, reflect on your situation, rest and to give yourself a reboot.

The planet Mercury went retrograde or in backward station on April 29th, 2016 at 24 degrees of Taurus. Mercury is also known as the Messenger of the Gods and governs over all forms of communication, commerce, writing and speech. Taurus is a stubborn, fixed Sun sign and does not like to be rushed or forced into anything. With Mercury retrograde in Taurus it can influence people’s lives to slow down and they think about things longer before they reach a decision, so if you insist on an answer during this time it will likely be no. The first 10 days of May, the planets Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto are all in a retrograde or an off kilter and slowed energy. During a retrograde transit there is a higher than average chance of missed appointments, problems associated with communications, travel chaos, computer crash’s, electronic or mechanical problems and general confusion. That said, Mercury retrograde is a wonderful time for a redo or to finish up projects you have already begun. Before Mercury goes retrograde, back up your files on your computer, double-check your appointments, travel plans and commitments. 

On the 6th we have a New Moon Super Moon at 16 degrees of Taurus. This is a good time to attend to your finances and make solid plans for the future. This is also a good time for pampering yourself, relaxing and gardening. Why not enjoy a lovely meal with family or a loved one. Mighty Jupiter stations direct on the 9^th at 13 degrees of Virgo which will slowly begin progress in business and areas of life we want to expand. Also on the 9^th, Venus and Neptune make a harmonious angle perfect for a romantic evening as well as artistic pursuits such as painting, acting or music. On the 10^th, Jupiter makes a lovely star angle with Venus in Taurus. A new love interest or business proposition may present itself at this time. It is also a great day for a date, lovely dinner or a little romance. Venus the planet of love and money is currently in the Earth sign of Taurus until the 24^th. Venus in Taurus casts a sensual energy on people and encourages us to indulge in all forms of pleasure such as luxury items, good food as well as things of beauty and beautiful people. This sparkling Venus energy will give the earth signs of Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn extra charisma, charm and allure for the next three weeks. This is a great time to ask for a favor as others will see you as irresistible.

The 13th is a good time for love and romance when Venus at 17 degrees of Taurus makes a harmonious angle with Pluto in Capricorn. People at this time will be more romantic, seek out the finer things in life. This is a perfect time for a romantic gourmet dinner or for pampering oneself. The Sun enters the air sign of Gemini on the 20th switching our focus to matters related to communications, writing, intellectual pursuits, travel as well as siblings and cousins. It is a good time to catch up on networking, errands and is a nice time for a short trip or vacation to an exotic destination.

On the 21^st we have a Full Moon at 1 degree of Sagittarius putting an emphasis on worldly pursuits, education and long distance travel plans. This energy may also have some people feeling energized or it may bring a situation to completion. Influencing the Full Moon is Mars who has cozied himself right beside Luna and is in opposition to the Sun. This will give the Full Moon an extra shot of caffeine so to speak. Mars energy can add drama, impatience or urgency to any situation and some of you will be feeling quite anxious on this Full Moon.

Mercury stations direct on May 22^nd at 14 degrees of Taurus. Life will begin to get back to normal; however it is best to wait until Mercury leaves its shadow phase on June 9th when it reaches 24 degrees of Taurus to be extra sure. On the 24^th, Venus enters the Air sign of Gemini. Venus in Gemini can influence our romantic desires, thoughts and intentions. People in general will tend to be fickle as far as romantic interests go and are more likely to be flighty during this time. It is a good time to write poetry and sweet words of love. On the 26^th, Jupiter squares Saturn for the last time this year. This could mean a reality check is on the way when these 2 heavy hitters square off. Some of you may realize a big dream will take a lot more hard work than you originally thought. On the 27^th   Mars which is currently in retrograde motion, enters the serious water sign of Scorpio kicking up the intensity meter a notch or 10.

You will feel super when the Moon in Scorpio trines Venus in Cancer providing earthlings with positive water energy. Healing vibrations from the Moon is a beautiful way to start the week. Most people will feel happy and in a good mood. You will want to enjoy good food, friends as well as beautiful surroundings and or people.

Life will get more daring and adventurous when the Moon enters happy go lucky sign of Sagittarius. When Luna is in a fire sign she encourages us to take action. Do something, especially concerning the outdoors like hiking or even a picnic. If you have never been on a picnic I encourage you to do so now. The next couple of days will be favorable for beginning a vacation, engaging in sports and spending time outdoors to enjoy nature.

Tuesday, June 2
Today may feel like a dream or like your lost in the fog thanks to the Moon square Neptune. The Moon represents our feelings while Neptune is the planet of our dreams, illusion and confusion. You may not be seeing all the facts clearly today.

The Full Moon in 11° Sagittarius and Gemini is a happy, lucky, optimistic and basically a fun time. This illumination will stimulate your adventurous side as Sagittarius likes to be daring, wild and free. This full moon encourages us to connect with nature, travel and chat with friends from afar. Communications will be highlighted, especially with foreigners or friends living abroad. It will be full steam ahead tonight and you're ready to rock when the Moon trines Jupiter in Leo. Live it up.

Wednesday, June 3
The day might start with the bang or in a big way when the Moon in Sagittarius trines Uranus in Aries. Expect the unusual and the unexpected. Did I mention it was going to be big?

Your gregarious mood from yesterday will take on a more serious tone when the Moon enters the logical sign of Capricorn. The Moon in Capricorn is grounding and stable energy. The next couple of days are excellent for getting down to work, concentrating on details, logical thinking and problem solving. It is also a good time to do yard work or to work with earth.

Thursday June 4
Celestial skies are easy as there are no major aspects for today. The Moon in Capricorn makes a soft aspect to Neptune in Pisces which may have you seeking solitude, feeling a little dreamy or lost in your thoughts. This is a great aspect to read a good book or to write one for that matter. Romance is favorable at this time so take advantage of it with a candlelit dinner for two. Later intense feelings will be awakened, love, desire, even jealousy or obsessiveness may surface temporarily when the Moon conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn. Your current situation may temporarily take on a very serious note however fear not, this feeling will pass quickly.

Friday, June 5
Venus enters Leo
The planet Venus enters the fire sign of Leo where she will stay until July 18. At this time Venus enters the sign of Virgo briefly for less than two weeks before she will retrograde and go back into Leo until October 8. The planet Venus is symbolized by the Greek goddess Aphrodite and represents love, romance, women and beauty. The planet of love also represents money, luxury and sexual desire. During Venus's stay in Leo, we will want to look our best, have a certain pride and people will want to be noticed. Our actions will be done in a big or extravagant way, especially concerning love. Adore me, pamper me, shower me with flattering attention, extravagant gifts and love!

People born with natal Venus in Leo are happy, charming, flirtatious and generous. These people Love to be the centre of attention and are adored by all. They are the natural born showman of the zodiac. Natal Venus in Leo is absolutely a fantastic position for an entertainer or actor as they ooze charisma and charm.

Transiting Mars in Gemini makes a lovely sextile to Jupiter in Leo encouraging us to go for it. This will have you in a positive frame of mind and is a lovely time for business enterprises. However we must remember Mercury is still retrograde behind the scenes.

Saturday, June 6
The weekend may begin suddenly or in usual manner when the Moon enters the unconventional sign of Aquarius. The next couple of days are excellent for socializing, being with friends and joining clubs groups or organizations. Aquarius likes to think outside of the box or with no box at all for that matter. You may find yourself coming up with all kinds of wacky inventions or crazy ideas today, think of the nutty professor and your there. Someone unexpected may make their romantic intentions known to you in a unconventional way when the Moon opposes Venus in Leo. Luna also makes a lovely angle with Saturn which will provide grounding, stable energy to the day.


Venus in Leo trine Saturn in Sagittarius would normally be an excellent aspect for a long term commitment, especially with business or a marriage proposal, however with Mercury being in retrograde motion, not as much. If you decide to go for it anyway, be prepared for it not turning out quite the way you expect.

Sunday, June 7
Take the day off and relax as there are no major aspects for today. The Moon in Aquarius makes a harmonious air trine to the Sun in Gemini. This angle will make for smooth sailing in the relationship department. Men and women should get along just fine.

Try not to overdo it or overextend yourself when the Moon opposes Jupiter in Leo. Someone may be boastful or promise more than they can actually deliver. The weekend may end on an exciting note when the Moon trines Mars in Gemini. You may have a brilliant idea or new desire pop into your head. Later you will be encouraged to dare to be different when the Moon sextiles Uranus in Aries. Variety is the spice of life.
